Who We Are And Who We Are Not

The Submission Policy

What The Group Accepts For Its Galleries

PLEASE READ THE POLICY FOR EACH GALLERY FOLDER BEFORE YOU SUBMIT

FIRST THING FIRST!

ManipulateThis  Follows ALL Of DeviantArt's Policies Concerning Individual Property Rights And Copyrights.  We WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY PHOTOMANIPULATION THAT USES PHOTOS OR OTHER RESOURCES FROM SOURCES THAT ARE NOT LEGITIMATE SOURCES FOR STOCK TO BE USED IN PHOTOMANIPULATIONS!

Check  Your  Source!

If You're Downloading A Photo, etc., Off Of The Web That Is NOT In The Public Domain Or Specifically Says That It Can Be Used For Stock, Or You Did Not Get Written Permission For It To Be Used As Stock, IT IS NOT STOCK And We Will NOT Accept Your Photomanipulation!!!  PERIOD!

ManipulateThis Has Four Types Of Submissions

Updated: August 4, 2016

:bulletblue: Theme Challenges And Contests:
We will run a challenge for two to three weeks during each month.  The Theme Challenges will consist of an Objective, at least One Required Stock, and at least one Expectation (what you’re doing in the challenge).  Contests run longer and have higher Expectations.

At ManipulateThis, you're always participating with members of your own Skill Level: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advance.

Please Select Your Skill Level Accurately. You CANNOT Change From One Level To Another  From One Challenge To The Next.  See Skill Levels Explained Below Under OPEN GALLERIES.

Visit the group or select to receive the journals in your Messages to find out information on the current challenge.  We hope you take on the challenges  and participate when you’re able.

Please Read The “How To Submit” For Each Challenge CAREFULLY, And Submit To The Featured Folder.

COMPETITIVE AND NON-COMPETITIVE ENTRY CATEGORIES

I always appreciate members participating in the Theme Challenges And Contests, and I always give "Thank You" gifts no matter what.  However, if you do not feel comfortable having your entry as part of the Competition Category, there is the Non-Competitive Category.

Your submission will still be accepted for the gallery, featured in a group journal, and you'll receive a "Thank You" gift.

At the bottom of the Challenge or Contest journal is the information on how to participate as a Non-Competitive entry.

:bulletblue:  Group Activities:
We will have activities where you can join in a team competition, share your own tips,  create a stock,  and other ways to take a break from the challenges, have some  fun, share, and learn with or from one another.

Please Read The “How To Submit” For Each Activity CAREFULLY, And Submit To The Featured Folder.

:bulletblue: Stock And Resources For Group Members And Group Activities:
Any member who has created Photo Stock, 3D Renderings, Pre-Made Backgrounds, Cut Outs, and Other Resources for us Photomanipulators are welcome to submit them to the Stockers Who Are Members Folder.  You are allowed to submit 10 of your BEST stock per week.

:bulletblue:  Open Gallery Folders For Beginning, Intermediate, and Advance Skilled Photomanipulators:
There are now three Open Gallery folders and you’re welcome to submit your BEST Traditional Photomanipulation deviation of your choice for us to Showcase (Limit: 2 per month).

Your photomanipulations for the Open Gallery folders are reviewed for acceptance into each folder.  They MUST be your BEST work and follow the Submission Policy below.

In Addition: HERE IS THE GENERAL POLICY ABOUT THE OPEN GALLERY FOLDERS:

Your submissions should be placed into the Correct Open Gallery Folder According To Your Photomanipulation Skills. See below;

:bulletred:  Your submissions should be placed into the Open Gallery For BEGINNER PHOTOMANIPULATORS  if you're still struggling with Photomanipulation, do not understand how to use the elements and principals of art to your advantage, or you want to get more from your paint programs.

:bulletred:  Your submissions should be placed into Open Gallery For INTERMEDIATE PHOTOMANIPULATORS if you're no longer struggling with Photomanipulation, you have a good grasp and understanding of how to use the elements and principals of art to your advantage, and you know your paint program though you feel you still are growing in your skills.

:bulletred:  Even if you have not been doing photomanipulations for years, and don't consider yourself as an "expert", your deviations belong in the ADVANCE OPEN GALLERY FOLDER if you have grown beyond  Intermediate.

If it is obvious that you're submitting to the wrong Open Gallery, your deviation will be not be accepted, but you will receive a note explaning why and ask that you resubmit to the more appropriate folder.  We will look at your gallery to make the determination if you're really a beginning, intermediate, or advance photomanipulator.   If you continue to miss-submit, I will stop you from submitting to the Open Galleries.

If You Are Confused About Your Level Of Skills, Please Contact Us By Group Note or Contact Me At My Art Account, And I Or One Of The Staff Will Be Happy To Respond

Don't neglect to look into our Favorites gallery for the special Tutorials that I and the members have written and the ones we have  collected over the years.

For Detail Information With Examples On What We Do And Do Not Accept For Each Of Our Gallery Folders, PLEASE READ

What The Group Accepts And Does Not Accept
And The Information Found Under Please Read First

BEFORE SUBMITTING TO ANY GALLERY FOLDER, PLEASE REMEMBER TO:

:bulletwhite:  ONLY Submit Traditional Digital Photomanipulations!

:bulletwhite:  LIST, CREDIT And Give  DIRECT LINKS  to all Stock Resources Including Off-DeviantART  Legitimate Stock  Resources And Anything From Your Personal Private Collection.   IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHERE YOU FOUND A STOCK THAT YOU USED, DO NOT SUBMIT TO THE GROUP'S GALLERY!

If you are using any of your own personal resources, please include that information in your Comments Box. State what it is, and say something like "Background photo taken by me", or "Dry Rose Stock from personal collection"; anything to that effect so that you're crediting everything that is being used in the photo manipulation.

:bulletwhite:  ONLY  Use Legitimate Stock!  If the stock provider cannot tell you where their images that they offer for photomanipulators come from, DO NOT USE THE IMAGE AS STOCK!

:bulletwhite:  Categorize Your Deviation Correctly!  If You Use Photo Stock With 3D Rendering, It MUST be categorized as Digital Art > Mixed Media, NOT Digital Art > Photomanipulation!

:bulletwhite:  Watermarks Are Okay AS LONG AS They Are Not Obtrusive And Block The Center  Or ANY Important Part Of Your Image.  THIS INCLUDES THE DEVIANTART WATERMARK!

I understand why you would want to include a Watermark on your Deviation, but we ask that you not add one that is blocking any part of your deviation for our galleries.  Sorry for any problems that this policy creates.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR PROBLEMS CONCERNING THE SUBMISSION POLICY, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO CONTACT US BY GROUP NOTE AND WE'LL RESPOND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
