If you haven't seen the great entries for the "Beautiful Autumn" challenge, don't hesitate to go
HERE to view them.
Okay, folks. This new challenge is a Winter theme. Easy? Yes, but do pay close attention to the following details and the expectations. Also, this is really a "long" challenge, or mini-contest, so winners will receive a large prize pack, includes stock packs and points) then what we usually offer for the average 2-week challenge.
So, don't be shy. Go for it! You can never win if you don't participate!

Our new challenge is called "Winter Wonderland", and it features pre-made background stocks by our members =
RebeccaLongArt, =
PatriciaRodelaArtist, *
robhas1left, and =
SweediesArt. These are backgrounds that we made for a challenge last December.

Here are three examples. They may or may not be the same background for this challenge, but they should help you with ideas.
This time you're allowed to create a "scene" or a "design". As long as it looks like a "Winter Wonderland", you can go either way or a mixture of both.
Remember, this is a pre-made background challenge. You
must included in your credits the stock that was use to create the pre-made. If you're not sure what I mean, send a note to the group and one of the mods will help you.
And don't be a big grump over this challenge rule. It's a dA policy for pre-made backgrounds, and I follow all of dA's policies.
Be sure to read the expectations below carefully and understand what this challenge is about before you begin looking for additional stock. Got questions? Don't hesitate to make a comment below this blog, or write a note to the group.

Remember, I have the right to decline
any deviation for content.
Due date for the challenge is Sunday, December 30th .
Please watch the Countdown Clock on our HOME page for the exact time of the challenge in your area. Late entries will be added to the gallery but will not be accepted for the competition.
Build Your
"Winter Wonderland" Challenge Entry By Using These Expectations:
Yes, you can edit the pre-made backgrounds. As long as I can tell that you started off with the original required background, it's okay to edit it. However, don't forget the rule against having only "pieces" of the original background.
You must use any additional stock of your choice to carry through the theme. Everyone should use
more then "3" additional stocks for this challenge. I encourage everyone to use more then 3 so that you have more interesting images. A model in a background is not very creative. One with 3 or more additional stocks is better, but is not all that it can be.
Resources and brushes are okay to use (in fact, I encourage you to use them!), but they are
not stock, and can't be counted as stock.

For this challenge, it's okay to have a monochromatic (everything done in different shades of the same color) color scheme.

Don't forget the group policy about "airbrush/painting", and other ways to get a "painterly effect" on your photo-manipulation. If you are unsure, you can read all about it on the group's HOME page.
Please be creative. Very important. Still, be careful. You don't want to be "overly" different. It will only confuse the judges.
You can enter 2 deviations into the challenge. Each entry must use different required stock and different additional stock.

And lastly, let me remind you again,
All Level Winners in the "Competitive" category will win prizes that include, stock packs, points, an exclusive desk top wallpaper, and features.
Don't forget. I'm taking a vacation from dA and will not be around every day. That means, your entries may be sitting in Featured for a couple of days, but I will get to them. If you have any questions, send in a note and one of the mods will be able to help.
So have fun with this one. You have plenty of time to work around the holidays, and I hope you do participate.
Can't wait to see your entries!!
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR DEVIATION IS COMPLETED

A. First, in the Artist's Comments box, make sure you post that your deviation is for the "Winter Wonderland" Challenge at #
ManipulateThis and include our icon.

B. Second, have the level you're entering under (Level 1 for Novice, 2 for Beginners, 3, for Intermediate,
and 4 for Advance) with the info above in your "Artist's Comments". If you're not sure about the level, please read a description of each level in the rules.
[link]Choose your level carefully and accurately. A wrong level can affect winning the challenge.

If you're a new member and I've suggested a level for you, please participate under that level until you and I decide it's time for you to move up a level.

C. Then submit your deviation by selecting
"Contribute Art" in the menu on the Home page of the group, or from the
"Submit To Group" link on the right hand side of your original deviation. It must be approved before it's placed into the FEATURED gallery.I always move from the FEATURED to the challenge folder, so don't worry about that.
Remember, deviations that are NOT for the challenge will be declined.
D. You will receive a confirmation message at your art account if the entry was accepted or not. If it was declined you will receive a comment with the decline entry telling you why.
If there is time, you're allowed to edit your deviation or start again. An edited deviation will change the original if you use the
"Edit Deviation" link on the page of the deviation.
IMPORTANT!If the above happens and you do not delete the original deviation from your gallery, please send a group note so that I know to remove the original entry.
WHAT TO DO WITH A "NON-COMPETITIVE" ENTRY
Please see the Rules concerning
"Competitive" and "Non-Competitive" .

Do your very best in execution, and really create a fascinating entry!
