The Challenges
Once about every two weeks, I'll post a journal with the challenges. Each challenge will have a theme with one, two or more related stock. Members will choose the stock according to the rules of the particular challenge. The member will then have two weeks to complete the deviation.
At the end, when the challenge is closed, there will be a one or two day judging period (depending on the number of entries). Usually there are three judges from the staff and guest deviants, but there may be less depending on the amount of participants and the amount of deviations per level.
The members who are selected as "Picks Of The Week" will be invited to send in a deviation from their gallery for the club to feature. This gallery deviation does not have to be a photomanipulation, just something from your gallery that you feel is one of your best works.
Note: Just to clarify, the stock you use does not determine winning a challenge or a challenge contest. The variety of stock is there to give the members more to choose from for each challenge
All entries will be displayed in the journal as thumbnails and included in a separate folder in the main gallery. Winners of the "Picks" will be in a separate folder.
Non-Competitive Category:
If you like, you can also submit your deviation to the non-competitive category. It works much the same as the contest does. You will be given a choice between the same challenges, you will have the same amount of time to complete your manip, and your entry will also be displayed in the journal.
There are many reasons to put your entry in this category. You may still be learning and be nervous about your work being judged, you may not be comfortable with the idea of competing and merely want inspiration and critique, or you might just not always want to be in the contest. Whatever the reason, if you don't want to be in the competition, this is the place to go.
Check the rules journal to see how to submit to this category. Join:
